Zakah – The Third Pillar of Islam
Zakah means giving to those in need. It is the third pillar of Islam and a very important way Muslims show kindness and care.
Every year, Muslims give a small part of their money—usually 2.5%—to help the poor, orphans, and others who are struggling. This money is called Zakah.
Zakah teaches us to be generous, to share what we have, and to remember that our wealth is a gift from Allah. It helps make the world fairer and brings happiness to people in need.
By giving Zakah, Muslims clean their hearts from greed and help build a better, kinder community.
Zakah is not just charity – it’s a duty, and it brings blessings to both the giver and the receiver.
